Lure Marlin
What size boat do you need to run a charter fishing for marlin, ahi, and so on?
I confess I only been fishing for these species of fish once or twice, my experience is workin / fishing in AK, but I'm moving in a tropical in about a year, and I want to move there. In addition to lures and poles and bases, this kind of stuff I need, and the size of a boat (I know "people chaught marlin 700 pounds from a rowing boat! ... and all that crap, but I mean, to have 4 people (my ideal #) A deckhan and myself, with space to store the catch of a charter full day). When I handed the deck to a friend Hawaii, he had a 42-foot Hatteras was great, but I could do well with less, at least initially, but it may be the size of which you need ...?
I would say you need at least a 28-foot boat and here's why. I know 2 people that both companies run charter one off Long Island and one in the area of Wrightsville Beach, NC Both are running 28 footers. On these two boats have been fishing and I taken some Big Game from, ranging from a Mako 450 pounds to 600 pounds Marlin. Both boats have live wells and storage. Of the two sizes, we had the captain, a sailor and 6 passengers. Although 5 would have made things a little more comfortable. Important you need to watch what size boat charters in the region and other to compare what you are looking to collect on their fares. My friend, on Long Island has a smaller boat than other charters, and less expense, but it makes more profit due to the fact it costs less to run his boat for the day. You also have to consider the fuel capacity to obtain fishing grounds. So you do not want to go too small if you have some way to go fishing first.
