What platform and mangrove red snapper?

(Got Great answers all the time my next trip to sw FL) Road to the Everglades for the first time in a week and a half. Aura 4000 with a spinner on a braid 6'6 "MH rod. Will be fishing in a canoe, and although that water is brackish, I've never fished Sweetwater. Leader necessary? Plan to throw light plastic with or without the ball 1/4oz jigs. More ... a ton of plugs seawater smaller than the work on stripers and blues, suggestions on what to do

It sounds like you the basics covered. I would say a leader, about 1.5 '£ 40 florocarbon should. The reason is Snook. Snook are very abrasive mouth who will wear mono and braid easily, so you'll be around mangrove roots and other structures. I do not know exactly where in the glades, you will, but you'll most likely fishing Chockoluski (sp) river or a certain type of stream, so depending on water temperature there, fish should be cruising all is not back under the mangroves in the shade. Take the caps you have, and any small Soft Plastics.
