Sure Catch
My boyfriend dogs have parvo ... How can I make sure my cat does not catch ?...?
I will avoid his house ... But would it strong enough to go somewhere with him tonight? My cat has not had her shots yet at all, and my dogs have had their parvo shots annually since few years.
First, I want to say ... I feel for your friend. I had a dog, as did my best friend, there are several years and both contracted the dreaded virus. I was very lucky, but my friend does not. Canine parvovirus is spread by their feces and is more common in young dogs 2 years old. This does not mean older dogs are not able to contract the deadly virus. The virus in good conditions, can live up to nine months when the stool is. The only way to rid the house of this virus is horrible to clean, wash and rub EVERYTHING. (I'm not crying, I want to stress how important it is to disinfect). This includes: clothing, food / water, soil, footings shoes, bed linen backyard. These are to name but a few things to be disinfected. You really want to make sure that your dog does not catch it not. Your cat will not contract canine parvovirus. Feline parvovirus can and spread from cat to cat the same way it spreads to a dog dog. Parvovirus is an important group of viruses and most mammalian species appear to have its own parvovirus. Please get your cat and dog vacinated.
