Is it necessary to remove the batteries from my laptop when I plug in a power source?
like when I go BA use it to surf the Internet for a long period of time
I am not qualified to give you what might be the right answer, but I'll tell you what happened with my laptop. I use my laptop in our spare bedroom is my "office" in some way and have the laptop plugged in the electricity sector, while in service. I was advised by a friend that this could harm the battery and that I should remove it while I was working on laptop power supply. I removed the battery as suggested, but after about 2-3 weeks, I noticed that the time displayed in the lower right corner is incorrect. After much advice from different people I ignored I replaced the battery and has continued as before and I have not had other problems. On occasion I strange will use the laptop on battery only for a short period of time when I reconnect the area it recharges the battery and thus keep it alive, so to speak. Hope that can help you.
